Problem Statement:
In a hospital environment, the wide variety of medical products and the large physical space make inventory management a time-consuming and labour-intensive task. Accurate tracking of consignment products is particularly critical, as any discrepancies can lead to supply shortages, operational inefficiencies, or financial loss. Currently, the hospital invests significant time in conducting manual inventories, yet the process often results in errors and inconsistencies.
Objective:
To develop a more efficient, accurate, and cost-effective inventory management system that reduces the time and resources required while minimizing human error.
Solution:
Implementing UHF RFID technology by tagging all consignment products and using portable RFID readers to track their presence and location throughout the hospital. This solution enables real-time visibility of inventory levels and supports faster, more reliable stocktaking processes.
