Problem Statement:
Timely replenishment of medical supplies at nursing stations is a critical factor in ensuring patient safety and quality of care. Delays in this process can negatively impact patient outcomes. Nurses frequently report shortages of essential items and often have to request urgent replenishments, which places additional stress on the workflow and can compromise efficiency.
Objective:
The objective of this project is to design and implement an IoT-based solution that automatically notifies the replenishment department when medical supplies are running low, thereby preventing shortages and reducing the need for manual intervention.
Solution:
The solution involves attaching UHF RFID tags to supply bins and installing RFID antennas on storage shelves. When a bin becomes empty, the system detects it in real time and sends an automatic notification to the replenishment department, enabling timely restocking and improved inventory management.
